    Open Access•Alexandra Kaar•ARTICLE•Central European History•2021•Cited by: 1•References: 2

After the outbreak of the First Hussite Wars (spring 1420), the Hussite capital Prague faced—at least in theory—a total embargo on all trade and commerce. Alexandra Kaar•BOOK•Wirtschaft, Krieg und Seelenheil•2020

Based on this twofold understanding, a set of sources is interrogated both from the perspectives of economic and cultural history. To this end a research methodo…

  • Urkunden und Briefe über das antihussitische Handelsverbot

    Open Access•Alexandra Kaar•ARTICLE•Studia historica Brunensia•2019

The present paper studies the charters and letters originating during the Catholic trade embargo first imposed against the Czech Hussites between 1420 and 1436, and reassumed in the late 1460s and early 1470s. The different types of documents are first studied with regard to their formal characteristics and their classification in terms of late medieval diplomatics. Secondly, lost correspondence is reconstructed in order to demonstrate the great …
