Parul Malik, Peter Malik•ARTICLE•Zeitschrift für die Alttestamentlic…•2023

This article offers a new edition of the LXX Psalms portion of Codex Climaci Rescriptus, an important, though somewhat neglected, Sinaitic Palimpsest. The edition is based on the post-processed multispectral images, produced by Early Manuscripts Electronic Library in cooperation with the Lazarus Project. The new technology has aided in correcting various errors in the editio princeps and uncovering hitherto unseen textual and paratextual elements

  • Newly Discovered Illustrated Texts of Aratus and Eratosthenes Within Codex Climaci Rescriptus

    Open Access•Peter J Williams, Patrick James et al.•ARTICLE•The Classical Quarterly•2022•References: 1

This article presents texts recovered by post-processing of multispectral images from the fifth- or sixth-century underwriting of the palimpsest Codex Climaci Rescriptus. Texts identified include the Anonymous II Proemium to Aratus’ Phaenomena , parts of Eratosthenes’ Catasterisms , Aratus’ Phaenomena lines 71–4 and 282–99 and previously unknown text, including some of the earliest astronomical measurements to survive in any Greek manuscript. Cod…

  • Rediscovering Paratexts in the Manuscripts of Revelation

Darius Müller, Parul Malik et al.•ARTICLE•Early Christianity•2020

  • Whose Fathers?

    Parul Malik, Peter Malik•ARTICLE•Early Christianity•2018

  • P.Oxy. viii. 1079 ( 18 )

    Open Access•Parul Malik, Peter Malik•ARTICLE•New Testament Studies•2018

Codex was by far the most widely attested book form among early Christian literary papyri. Nevertheless, the papyrological record does include several notable exceptions, two of which contain parts of the book of Revelation ( 18 and 98 ). Recently, the former's status as a roll has been disputed by Brent Nongbri, who suggested that, instead, 18 is more likely to be a miscellaneous codex. This article provides a fresh look at the extant evidence a…

  • P.Beatty III (P47)

    Peter Malik•BOOK•P.Beatty III (P47)•2017

Since ancient works were preserved by means of handwritten copies, critical enquiry into their texts necessitates the study of such copies. In P.Beatty III (P47): The Codex, Its Scribe, and Its Text, Peter Malik focuses on the earliest extensive copy of the Book of Revelation. Integrating matters of palaeography, codicology, and scribal practice with textual analysis, Malik sheds new light on this largely neglected, yet crucially important, early…
