Protest tourism is visiting a destination with the major aim of viewing or participating in protests. This qualitative study examined the motivations of Hong Kong protest tourists as a starting point for future exploration of distinctions between this emerging type of tourism and other existing categories. Five primary motivations were revealed. Two push motivations were the desire to (1) have special, new experiences that few others have experie…

  • Impacts of perception and perceived constraint on the travel decision-making process during the Hong Kong protests

    V G Girish, Choong-Ki Lee et al.•ARTICLE•Current Issues in Tourism•2021

This study explores the relationships of perception toward protests and perceived constraints with the theory of planned behaviour constructs in the context of the ongoing Hong Kong protests. We analyzed data from the KNHANES V (2010-2012), VI (2013-2015), and VII (2016-2018). A total of 9232 women aged 19-49 years were…

Seo Young Kang, Jung Ah Lee et al.•ARTICLE•The Journal of Sex Research•2016

Although several studies have individually investigated the risk factors for erectile dysfunction (ED), premature ejaculation (PE), and late-onset hypogonadism (LOH), few studies have considered ED, PE, and LOH as categories of sexual dysfunction (SD) within the same population. We therefore aimed to investigate the prevalence of SD and its associated risk factors among men in primary care. Study participants were enrolled by 18 family physicians…

  • Liquidity, Quality, Production Cost, and Welfare in a Search Model of Money

Open Access•Young Sik Kim, Shuntian Yao•ARTICLE•The Economic Journal•2001

This paper examines a search model of money with divisible commodities of high and low quality, while keeping the assumptions of indivisible money and unit‐inventory constraint. With no direct barter and a higher fixed cost of producing high relative to low quality, an increase in the money stock encourages the production of high‐quality output by trading off the larger trading opportunities against the significance of higher fixed cost. As long …
