  • Anticommons, the Coase Theorem and the problem of bundling inefficiency

    Open Access•Ivan Major, Ronald F King et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of the…•2016•References: 2

The Coase theorem is most often formulated in terms of bi-lateral monopoly, for instance between a polluting factory and an affected neighbour. Instead, we introduce multiple affected neighbours and the concept of anticommons, in which autonomous actors with separate yet necessarily complementary inputs each has the right to deny but not to permit use. Once we posit multiple owners possessing complementary rights, strategically maximizing against…

  • Technical Efficiency, Allocative Efficiency and Profitability in Hungarian Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises: A Model with Frontier Functions

    Ivan Major•ARTICLE•Europe Asia Studies•2008•References: 2

By applying a simple model of frontier production functions, this article shows that Hungarian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) produce far below their feasible level, given their input endowment.

    Ivan Major•ARTICLE•Revue d’études comparatives…•1988

    Ivan Major•ARTICLE•Revue d’études comparatives…•1985
