  • Curbing Shocks to Corporate Liquidity

Niklas Amberg, Tor Jacobson et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Political Economy•2020•Cited by: 1•References: 9

Using data on liquidity shortfalls generated by the fraud and failure of a cash-in-transit firm, we demonstrate effects on firms’ trade credit usage. We find that firms manage liquidity shortages by increasing the amount of credit drawn from suppliers and decreasing the amount issued to customers. The compounded trade credit adjustments are on average of similar magnitude as corresponding adjustments in cash holdings, suggesting that trade credit…

  • Bootstrap Testing Linear Restrictions on Cointergrating Vectors

Mikael Gredenhoff, Tor Jacobson•ARTICLE•Journal of Business and Economic…•2001

We consider a computer-intensive method for inference on cointegrating vectors in maximum likelihood cointegration analysis. Simulation studies show that the size distortion for the asymptotic likelihood ratio test can be considerable for small samples. Itis demonstrated that a parametric bootstrap frequently results in a nearly exact α-level test. Furthermore, response surface regression is used to examine small-sample properties of the asymptot…

  • Are Real Wages and Unemployment Related

Open Access•Tor Jacobson, Anders Vredin et al.•ARTICLE•Economica•1998

In this paper we propose an alternative method for investigating the sources behind the behaviour of real wages and unemployment. The model we study is a certain cointegrated VAR, a so‐called common trends model, which has become increasingly popular in the empirical growth/business cycle literature. This model leads us to emphasize the distinction between long‐run and short‐run relations. Using quarterly Swedish data (1965–90), we find only weak…
