Open Access•Heli Zhang, Jianfen Luo et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2026

Introduction: Falls are a critical challenge in rehabilitation nursing, often leading to severe injury and prolonged recovery. Rehabilitation specialist nurses play an essential role in fall prevention; however, they encounter difficulties in accurately identifying risks, personalizing interventions, and collaborating effectively within interdisciplinary teams. • Identifying contributing-factor configurations in reported bed falls

Open Access•Mingxuan Wang, Yong Zhang et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2026

Objective: This study aimed to explore the conditional dependency structure of contributing factors related to bed falls and to identify stable dependency configurations within reported bed falls incident reports using Bayesian network analysis. Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted using 102 inpatient bed-fall incident reports collected from a tertiary hospital between 2014 and 2024. Twenty-two previously identified contributing factor…

  • The impact of the recognition of high-tech enterprise on R&D disclosure

Open Access•Yuanxing Wan, Yingchao Wan et al.•ARTICLE•Humanities and Social Sciences…•2025

The Administration of Recognition of High-tech Enterprises , a monitoring program for high-tech entrepreneurs, administers China’s most critical policy for reducing taxes to incentivize research and development (R&D), which also impacts disclosure. This study examines how this recognition has influenced high-tech enterprise R&D disclosure. Using a difference-in-differences (DID) design, the study found that authentic high-tech firms disclose more…

  • Association between fluoride exposure and the risk of serum CK and CK-MB elevation in adults

Open Access•Junhua Wu, Ming Qin et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2025

Background: This study aimed to investigate the relationship between urinary fluoride concentration and myocardial disease. Methods: This is a cross-sectional study that was conducted in three villages in Wenshui County, Shanxi Province. A total of 737 villagers were included in this analysis. Urinary fluoride was detected using a fluoride-ion selective electrode. Myocardial enzymes were detected using an automatic biochemical analyzer. Myocardia…

  • How do Related and Unrelated Varieties Impact Firm Economic Growth in China

    Open Access•Yuting Jiang, Yu-ting Jiang•ARTICLE•Advances in Applied Sociology•2024

Using a sample of 84,868 Chinese manufacturing firms operating in the period 2006-2013, we analyze whether related and unrelated variety—measured by entropy method, affects firms’ economic performance. Our results show that, with Heckman (1979) two-step sample selection model correcting only for sample-selection bias, unrelated variety has a negative and statistically significant impact. If we also correct the endogeneity of the main explanatory …

  • Evaluating a new obesity indicator for stroke risk prediction

Open Access•Feifei Yao, Jing Cui et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2024

Chinese rural residents exhibit higher levels of visceral obesity compared to residents in UK, leading to greater stroke susceptibility mediated by multimorbidity. These findings underscore the importance of comprehensive management of multimorbidity for stroke prevention. The TyG-BRI may serve as a promising predictor of ischemic stroke incidence among rural community residents

  • The Association Between Self-Reported Household Renovation and Semen Parameters Among Infertile Men

Open Access•Xin Lv, Yuting Jiang et al.•ARTICLE•American Journal of Men s Health•2023

Previous studies have indicated that outdoor air pollution has a negative impact on semen quality; however, few studies have examined whether living in a recently renovated residence is one of the factors influencing semen parameters. We aimed to examine the association between household renovation and semen parameters among infertile men. Our study was conducted at the Reproductive Medicine Center, The First Hospital of Jilin University (Changch…

  • Inhibition of Autophagy in Microglia Alters Depressive-Like Behavior via BDNF Pathway in Postpartum Depression

Open Access•Xiaoning Tan, Xiaoxue Du et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Psychiatry•2018

Postpartum depression (PPD) is associated with mood disorders and elevated inflammation. Studies have evidenced the activation/inhibition of autophagy and excessive activation of microglia to have a close relationship with depression. C57 and microglia-specific autophagy-deficient mice (Cx3Cr1 Cre/+ ATG5 loxp/loxp ) were employed to establish the chronic unpredicted mild stress depression mice model from embryonic day 7 (E7) to embryonic day 16 (…
