  • Patients’ response to doctors with different consultation lengths

Xianger Yuan, Yue Wu et al.•ARTICLE•Psychology & Health•2026

Objective This research examined the effects of power distance belief (PDB) on patients’ response to doctors with different consultation lengths.Design The effect of PDB on patients’ response to doctors with different consultation lengths was investigated through a cross-country study (Study 1; N = 338) and a field study (Study 2; N = 302). Study 3 (N = 404) tested the serial mediation role of arousal and time perception by manipulating PDB throu…

  • Decoding reading comprehension from eye movements in narrative and expository texts

Open Access•Zihao Xu, Kun Chen et al.•ARTICLE•British Journal of Educational…•2026

BACKGROUND: Eye-movement pattern during text reading has been recognized as a functional predictor of reading comprehension proficiency. However, it remains unclear whether and how the coupling between eye-movement pattern and reading comprehension is influenced by text genre and level of analysis. AIMS: This study addresses this question by investigating genre-specific eye-movement patterns during narrative and expository reading, as well as eva…

  • Why are maximizing patients more vigilant toward doctors? The mediation role of moral disengagement

Zihao Xu, Zoe Xu et al.•ARTICLE•Acta Psychologica Sinica•2026

Affective brain–computer interfaces (aBCIs) have shown promising applications due to the significant advancements in utilizing electroencephalogram (EEG) signals for emotion recognition. By measuring neuronal activity across various brain regions, EEG provides rich spatial information that is essential for discriminative feature extraction and effective emotion recognition. However, existing deep learning models face challenges in effectively cap…

  • Measuring Multi-Dimensional Urban Boundaries Influencing Theft

    Open Access•Tong Chen, Ran Chen et al.•ARTICLE•Urban Science•2025•References: 5

Identifying the environmental and social factors that influence crime is crucial for effective crime prevention and for building safer cities. Boundary areas are often neglected, despite being hotspots for criminal activity. However, previous studies have primarily focused on physical boundaries, with insufficient attention paid to social boundaries shaped by factors such as population composition and socioeconomic disparities. Additionally, exis…
