  • Cost-effectiveness analysis of a community-based colorectal cancer screening program in Shanghai, China

Open Access•Hongli Jiang, Peng Zhang et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2022

Background: Since 2011, through the Community-Based Colorectal Cancer Screening Program in Shanghai, China (SHcsp), residents aged >50 years were offered initial colorectal cancer screening using the fecal immunochemical test (FIT) and risk assessment questionnaire (RAQ) for free. Colonoscopy was then recommended for positive results. Objective: To evaluate the cost-effectiveness of the Community-Based Colorectal Cancer Screening Program in Shang…

  • Health shocks and changes in preventive behaviors

Open Access•Peng Zhang, Hongli Jiang et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2022

Background China is facing the challenge of rising prevalence and ballooning burden of chronic non-communicable diseases (NCDs); however, the Chinese middle- and older-aged population considerably lack preventive behaviors. Health shocks (HS), widely defined as sudden health deterioration brought on by diseases or accidents, bring a “teachable moment” to motivate changes in preventive behaviors. Objective This study aims to examine the effect of …

  • Cost-Effectiveness Analysis of 23-Valent Pneumococcal Polysaccharide Vaccine Program for the Elderly Aged 60 Years or Older in Shanghai, China

Open Access•Xiaodong Sun, Yuekun Tang et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2021

Background: The pneumococcal vaccine has been considered as the most effective measure to prevent pneumococcal diseases. In 2013, Shanghai launched a major public health program to vaccinate people aged 60 years or older with 23-Valent Pneumococcal Polysaccharide Vaccine (PPSV-23) free of charge. By the end of June 2020, a total of 1.56 million old people had been vaccinated free of charge. Objective: To evaluate the cost-effectiveness of PPSV-23…

  • Effectiveness of 23-Valent Pneumococcal Polysaccharide Vaccine Against Pneumococcal Diseases Among the Elderly Aged 60 Years or Older

Open Access•Xiaodong Sun, Xiang Guo et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2021

Background: Streptococcus pneumoniae infection among adults, especially in adults over 60 years old in China results in a large number of hospitalizations and a substantial financial burden. This study assessed the vaccine effectiveness (VE) of 23-valent pneumococcal polysaccharide vaccine (PPV23) against pneumococcal diseases among the elderly aged 60 years or older in Shanghai, China. Methods: We conducted a test-negative case–control study amo…

  • Can smart city construction facilitate green total factor productivity? A quasi-natural experiment based on China’s pilot smart city

Open Access•Hongli Jiang, Pengcheng Jiang et al.•ARTICLE•Sustainable Cities and Society•2021

  • Systems pharmacology-based study of Tanreqing injection in airway mucus hypersecretion

Open Access•Wei Liu, Xiawei Zhang et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Ethnopharmacology•2020

Based on the systems pharmacology method and in vivo experiment, our work provided a general knowledge on the potential active compounds and possible therapeutic targets of TRQ formula in its anti-MH process. This work might suggest directions for further research on TRQ and provide more insight into better understanding the chemical and pharmacological mechanisms of complex herbal prescriptions in a network perspective
