Open Access•Zhongchi Xu, Yupeng Wang et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Ethnopharmacology•2024

Ferroptosis induced by redox imbalance mediated through the NOX4/xCT/GPX4 axis is a potential mechanism behind radiation-induced cardiomyocyte injury, and can be prevented by TEA

  • A trade-off between lives and the economy? Subsidizing dining out under the Covid-19 pandemic in Japan

    Open Access•Yupeng Wang, Satoru Shimokawa•ARTICLE•Food Policy•2024•References: 3

We investigate the trade-off between economic and health impacts. • We examine Japan’s subsidy for dining out (GTE) during the COVID-19 pandemic. • Use nationwide 500-meter mesh data to estimate the impact on population mobility. • GTE mitigated a negative impact on population mobility in restaurant areas. • GTE had little association with the spread of COVID-19 afterward. We investigate how a government subsidy for dining out to support the rest…

  • Summer urban heat island mitigation strategy development for high-anthropogenic-heat-emission blocks

Open Access•Yuan Chen, Yupeng Wang et al.•ARTICLE•Sustainable Cities and Society•2022

  • Two-Step Floating Catchment Area Model-Based Evaluation of Community Care Facilities’ Spatial Accessibility in Xi’an, China

Open Access•Sunwei Liu, Yupeng Wang et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2020

Due to the rapid increase in the number of elderly people in Chinese cities, the development and planning of aged care facilities, and particularly community care facilities, which will gradually become the mainstream choice for the elderly in China, is becoming an important topic for urban sustainability. Previous studies have shown that the number and scale of aged care facilities in many cities are far from meeting the needs of the elderly and…

  • The Mediating Effect of Body Mass Index on the Relationship between Cigarette Smoking and Atopic Sensitization in Chinese Adults

Open Access•Xiao Luo, Yupeng Wang et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2015

BMI appeared to partially mediate the effect of light smoking on sensitization to aeroallergens. However, considering the other harmful health effects of cigarette smoking, the effective method to lower the incidence of atopy would be to decrease body fat mass by physical exercise and employing other more healthy ways of living rather than smoking

  • Effect modification by gender and smoking status on the association between obesity and atopic sensitization in Chinese adults: A hospital-based case–control study

Open Access•Xiao Luo, Yupeng Wang et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2014

Obesity is positively and significantly associated with the risk of atopy in both men and women as well in both smokers and non-smokers in China. In addition, the relationship between obesity and atopic sensitization is stronger in non-smokers than in current smokers
