    Cathy L Guttentag, Susan H Landry et al.•ARTICLE•Developmental Psychology•2014•Cited by: 22•References: 5

This study examined the efficacy of a multimodule parenting intervention, "My Baby & Me," that began prenatally and continued until children reached 2.5 years of age. The intervention targeted specific parenting skills designed to alter trajectories of maternal and child development. Of 361 high-risk mothers (193 adolescents, 168 adults) enrolled across 4 states, half were randomly assigned to the high-intensity (HI) home visitation coaching prog…

  • Maternal depressive symptomatology and child behavior: Transactional relationship with simultaneous bidirectional coupling

    Jody S Nicholson, Pascal R Deboeck et al.•ARTICLE•Developmental Psychology•2011•Cited by: 6•References: 3

The present study investigated reciprocal relationships between adolescent mothers and their children's well-being through an analysis of the coupling relationship of mothers' depressive symptomatology and children's internalizing and externalizing behaviors. Unlike studies using discrete time analyses, the present study used dynamical systems to model time continuously, which allowed for the study of dynamic, transactional effects between member…

  • Development and Psychometric Properties of Scores From the Short Index of Self-Directedness

Kevin P Prosnick, William J Evans et al.•ARTICLE•Measurement and Evaluation in…•2003

This research reports the development and psychometric properties of scores from the 10-item Short Index of Self-Directedness (SISD), drawn from the Temperament and Character Inventory (TCI; C. R. Cloninger, 1987/1992a) and the TCI-125 (C. R. Cloninger, 1992b). Factor structure, construct validity, internal consistency, and test—retest reliability of SISD scores are reported
