  • Association between physical activity levels, sedentary time, and mild cognitive impairment in older adults

Open Access•Wei Chen, Lei Zhang et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2026

Background Research indicates that mild cognitive impairment (MCI) in older adults is associated with physical activity levels (PAL) and sedentary behavior duration. However, the precise nature of the relationships between these factors and MCI warrants further investigation. Methods A cross-sectional survey was conducted from August to October 2025 using cluster sampling in community settings, involving 1,465 older adults. Cognitive function was…

  • Association between physical activity levels and mild cognitive impairment in Chinese older adults

Open Access•Lei Zhang, Wei Chen et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2025

Background Research indicates that mild cognitive impairment (MCI) in older adults is linked to physical activity; however, the relationship between varying levels of physical activity (PAL) and the risk of MCI needs further exploration. Objective This study explores the association and dose–response relationship between different levels of physical activity and MCI in older adults. Methods Using data from the 2020 China Health and Retirement Lon…

  • Analysis of obesity prevalence and trend prediction among professional women in a hospital from 2010 to 2024

Open Access•Mei Liu, Liu Mei et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2025

  • Experiencing art creation as a therapeutic intervention to relieve anxiety - a case study of a university’s ceramic art course

    Open Access•XiZhi Zhang, Kuo-Hsun Wen et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Psychiatry•2024

Key actions in the process of creating art are closely related to the treatment approaches used in art therapy interventions. This has the potential to not only improve mental health, but also to promote the health and well-being of students. Implications for future research: Rapid societal changes increasing competition for employment creates work and life pressures. University students face challenges with learning, peer competition, and employ…

  • Associations between allostatic load and hepatic steatosis and liver fibrosis

    Open Access•Zhikun Dai, Xiaohui Zhou•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2024

Comprehensive clinical assessment targeting load adaptation may enhance the effectiveness of risk assessment in patients with hepatic steatosis and fibrosis

  • Da-Chai-Hu-Tang Formula inhibits the progression and metastasis in HepG2 cells through modulation of the PI3K/AKT/STAT3-induced cell cycle arrest and apoptosis

Open Access•Zi-Wei Duan, Yong Liu et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Ethnopharmacology•2024

The results proved that DCHT could inhibit the progression and metastasis of HCC by regulating the expression of E-cadherin, N-cadherin, p53, Bax, Bcl-2, PI3K, p-AKT, AKT, and STAT3 through the PI3K/AKT/STAT3 signaling pathway

  • Longitudinal relations between executive function and internalizing problems in grade school

    Yiji Wang, Xiaohui Zhou•ARTICLE•Developmental Psychology•2019•Cited by: 4

Deficits in executive function have been associated with internalizing problems in children. Yet little is known about the mechanisms that may explain this association. Using longitudinal data across elementary school years ( N = 1,364), this study examined the role of peer difficulty and poor academic performance in understanding longitudinal associations between executive function and internalizing problems. Executive function was measured in f…
