  • Use of Multiple Cues by Children in Memory Retrieval Situations

    Twenty grade 3 and 20 grade 6 children were asked to identify a concealed target word (e.g., Banana) on the basis of four successively presented related cues (e.g., "It's a fruit" "It comes in a bunch"). Grade 6 children were more adept at using multiple cues to retrieve the target words than were grade 3 children, although practically all of the latter seemed to have the skills to do so.
