  • Variation in real world dementia risk profiles according to demographic characteristics in 6171 adults drawn from the Australian CogDrisk website

Open Access•Kaarin J Anstey, Md Hamidul Huque et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2025

We aimed to evaluate differences in dementia risk profiles according to age, birthplace and First Nations status. The sample included 6171 (62% female, 12). High rates of multiple risk factors were identified and varied according to age group and birthplace. This study provides evidence for tailoring risk reduction intervention and advice by age and birthplace

  • Gender differences in cognitive development in cohorts of young, middle, and older adulthood over 12 years

Kaarin J Anstey, Lauren Ehrenfeld et al.•ARTICLE•Developmental Psychology•2021

Understanding gender differences in human cognitive development may contribute to understanding the gender differences in outcomes in cognitive ageing. We present data from the UN Multi-country Study on Men and Violence in Asia and the Pacific, exploring the pathways between different forms of childhood trauma and violence against women. METHODS: In this multicountry study, we interviewed multis…

  • Improving and sustaining quality of child health care through IMCI training and supervision

BACKGROUND: The Integrated Management of Childhood Illness (IMCI) strategy includes guidelines for the management of sick children at first-level facilities. These guidelines intend to improve quality of care by ensuring a complete assessment of the child's health and by providing algorithms that combine presenting symptoms into a set of illness classifications for management by IMCI-trained service providers at first-level facilities. OBJECTIVES…
