Covert Sensitization as a Treatment for Weight Control
Factors responsible for the success of covert sensitization were investigated with regard to effectiveness in initiating an aversion toward selected foods. 5 volunteers first were given forward-conditioning, then backward-conditioning trials using Cautela's covert sensitization procedures, and 5 S s were given the opposite sequence. Four groups of twenty isopods ( Porcellio scaber L.) were given 40 right turns and four groups were given 20 right turns in square mazes 1, 1.5, 2.5, and 4 cm. on a side.
