  • Environmental Regulation at the Crossroads

    Open Access•Li Yuan•ARTICLE•Business Strategy and the…•2026

Amid growing resource pressures, environmental regulation plays a critical role in enabling the transition to a circular economy (CE). This study conducts a systematic literature review to synthesize how different regulatory approaches—command‐and‐control, market‐based, voluntary, and reflexive—affect CE transitions across economic and institutional contexts. The findings highlight the dual role of regulation: as a driver of innovation, efficienc…

  • Does the green patent pre-examination program reduce environmental pollution

Open Access•Li Yuan, Jing Tao et al.•ARTICLE•Humanities and Social Sciences…•2025

China’s green patent pre-examination program, implemented through Intellectual Property Protection Centers (IPPCs), creates expedited examination procedures for green inventions. This study examines the program’s environmental impact by exploiting the staggered establishment of IPPCs across cities. Using a staggered difference-in-differences model with city-level data from 2012 to 2021, the analysis reveals that the program leads to significant r…

  • Syntax-Enhanced Pretrained Language Models for Aspect-Level Sentiment Classification

Open Access•Yuan Li, Li Yuan et al.•ARTICLE•IEEE Transactions on Computational…•2025

The main challenge of aspect-level sentiment classification (ASC) is associating target aspect terms with relevant contextual words. Existing methods improve ASC performance by incorporating syntactic dependencies through a graph convolution layer on top of BERT. However, these approaches often assign a fixed weight to edges with the same dependency type, overlooking the contextual nuances these dependencies can convey. To address this, we propos…

  • Teacher–student relationships and student engagement

Open Access•Zhongqiang Wang, Yuan Li et al.•ARTICLE•Social Behavior and Personality…•2024

Previous research has shown that teacher–student relationships influence student engagement, which, in turn, plays a key role in academic achievement. However, few studies have focused on the mechanism between the teacher–student relationship and student engagement. To address this gap in the literature, this study examined the link between teacher–student relationships and college students' engagement via the mediator of peer relationships. The …
