  • Institutional rules for the up-take of regulatory experiments

    Open Access•Daniel Feser, Simon Winkler-Portmann et al.•ARTICLE•Futures•2024•References: 70

Experiments are an important governance instrument for fostering learning between actors, improving governance, and managing transition pathways for sustainable development. However, determinants of the up-take of the result of experiments are underexplored in the transition experimentation literature. Consequently, we explore the role of experimental design and institutions in this up-take. This paper examines the following research question: Ho…

  • Testing the relations of gelotophobia with humour as a coping strategy, self-ascribed loneliness, reflectivity, attractiveness, self-acceptance, and life expectations

Open Access•Martin Führ, Tracey Platt et al.•ARTICLE•European Journal of Humour Research•2015•Cited by: 2•References: 11

Gelotophobia (the fear of being laughed at) was studied in a sample of N = 1,322 Danish adolescents aged 11 to 16. When using a measure of coping humour in three different respects (using humour (1) to overcome uncertainty and stress, (2) in relation to aggression and sexuality, and (3) to get cheered up), it was indicated that the fear of being laughed at existed independently from the use of humour as a coping strategy. It is suggested that int…

  • Breaking ground in cross-cultural research on the fear of being laughed at (gelotophobia)

    René T Proyer, Willibald Ruch et al.•ARTICLE•Humor - International Journal of…•2009•Cited by: 8•References: 1

The current study examines whether the fear of being laughed at (gelotophobia) can be assessed reliably and validly by means of a self-report instrument in different countries of the world. All items of the GELOPH (Ruch and Titze, GELOPH〈46〉, University of Düsseldorf, 1998; Ruch and Proyer, Swiss Journal of Psychology 67:19–27, 2008b) were translated to the local language of the collaborator (42 languages in total). In total, 22,610 participants …

  • Responsive Regulierung

Kilian Bizer, Martin Führ et al.•EDITOR•BOOK•Responsive Regulierung•2002

  • Some aspects of form and function of humor in adolescence

    Martin Führ•ARTICLE•Humor - International Journal of…•2001•Cited by: 3

This study investigates the use, form and function of humor for children aged 12–16 years in two different schools including 47 participants through interviews and 112 participants in a questionnaire. The assumption is made, that developmental changes in form and function of humor for children aged 12–13 years may be influenced by their actual environmental settings and their actual tasks. Data from 12–16 year old children from two schools (schoo…
