Planning approaches for rurban areas
Geografisk Tidsskrift—Danish Journal of Geography 109(1):15–32, 2009 Urban growth and sprawl have long put pressure on rural areas, leading to a growing zone of ‘rurban areas’ where a multitude of functions, urban or rural, compete for land. Försök Till Tefrokronologisk Datering I Tre Norska Myrar
Three peat-bogs from the Norwegian west coast have been found to contain horizons with volcanic ash. The grain size distribution and the refractive index of the glass in the ashes have been examined. The horizons with volcanic ash have been dated with Carbon 14 and the results have been compared with Icelandic acid ash layers from Askja, Öraefa, and Hekla.
