  • Consumption studies in the global south

Open Access•T Ariztia, Marlyne Sahakian et al.•ARTICLE•Consumption and Society•2026

This article addresses the collective learnings from studying consumption across various regions to inspire and inform further research on low-carbon transitions and the pursuit of the good life. In order to shed light on the growing dynamism and richness of the field of consumption studies outside traditional circuits of discussion in the so-called global north, this article presents an experimental writing exercise conducted with 16 scholars wh…

  • Of Practices and (Micro)politics

Open Access•Eric Moye Kongnso, Aristide Yemmafouo et al.•ARTICLE•The Journal of Environment &…•2024

These cities seek to regulate informal trade in order to mitigate unemplo…

Aristide Yemmafouo, Chrétien Ngouanet et al.•ARTICLE•Geografisk Tidsskrift-Danish…•2017•Cited by: 2•References: 18

This study examines how migrant households relocate their homes in two Cameroonian cities over the course of lifetimes or even generations. The central claim is that homeownership is the ultimate sign of integration into city life. Using qualitative and quantitative research methods (218 interviews, 30 focus groups and a household survey, sample size 686), the study argues that three key factors explain why people move: the quality of housing the…
