ChatGPT for (Finance) research
We show, based on ratings by finance journal reviewers of generated output, that the recently released AI chatbot ChatGPT can significantly assist with finance research. In principle, these results should be generalisable across research domains. There are clear advantages for idea generation and data identification. We empirically study the relationship between the gender composition and the performance of teams. In our setting, teams of students are incentivized to develop business plans as part of a compulsory course in a business administration program. Inter-firm networks, as an inter-organizational form, are increasingly perceived as a model for entrepreneurial firm growth. We study egocentric networks of high-growth entrepreneurial firms in the IT industry and explore how these firms grow through the use of external relations and become competitive.
