  • Mobile device screen time is associated with poorer language development among toddlers

Open Access•Signe Boe Rayce, Lonny Stokholm et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2024

Mobile device screen time of one hour or more per day is associated with poorer language development among toddlers. Reading frequently to the child may have a buffering effect on language comprehension difficulties but not on expressive language skills difficulties

  • Is Neighborhood Nature an Ecological Precursor of Parenting Practices, Infant-Parent Bonding, and Infant Socioemotional Function

Open Access•Lærke Mygind, Caitlin Greenwood et al.•ARTICLE•Environment and Behavior•2023

Nurturing relationships are crucial for adaptive child development. The objectives of the study were to investigate whether nature availability was associated with early nurturing parenting practices, mother-infant bonding, and infant socioemotional function. Data were from the Australian Temperament Project ( n = 809 infants to 515 parents residing in Victoria, Australia) and were linked cross-sectionally to residential greenness (i.e., Normaliz…

  • Early Motor Developmental Milestones and Personality Traits in Midlife

Open Access•Trine Flensborg‐Madsen, Erik Lykke Mortensen et al.•ARTICLE•Children•2023

Background The purpose of this study was to investigate if infants' age at attaining motor developmental milestones is associated with the big five personality traits 50 years later. Methods Mothers of 8395 infants from the Copenhagen Perinatal Cohort recorded a total of 12 motor developmental milestones during the first year of their infant's life. Information on at least one milestone was available for 1307 singletons with adult follow-up score…

  • Prospective associations between alcohol consumption and psychological well-being in midlife

Open Access•Marie Grønkjær, Cathrine Lawaetz Wimmelmann et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2022

Background Alcohol consumption potentially influences psychological well-being in beneficial and harmful ways, but prospective studies on the association show mixed results. Our main purpose was to examine prospective associations between alcohol consumption and psychological well-being in middle-aged men and women. Methods The study sample included 4148 middle-aged individuals (80% men) from the Copenhagen Aging and Midlife Biobank who reported …

  • Birth weight and quality of life in midlife

Open Access•Emilie Rune Hegelund, Cathrine Lawaetz Wimmelmann et al.•ARTICLE•Quality of Life Research•2019

  • Parental socioeconomic position and midlife allostatic load

Open Access•Dinne Skjærlund Christensen, Trine Flensborg-Madsen et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2018

Parental socioeconomic position was inversely associated with allostatic load in midlife. Results suggest that part of this association was mediated by education. A better understanding of the non-cognitive pathways related to education is an important prerequisite for the development of effective intervention strategies

  • The association between life satisfaction, vitality, self-rated health, and risk of cancer

Open Access•Anna Paldam Folker, Emilie Rune Hegelund et al.•ARTICLE•Quality of Life Research•2018

  • Developmental milestones during the first three years as precursors of adult intelligence

    Trine Flensborg-Madsen, Trine Flensborg‐Madsen et al.•ARTICLE•Developmental Psychology•2018•Citada por: 3•Referencias: 4

Few studies have investigated associations of milestone development in early childhood with intelligence in adulthood in typically developing children. The current study is an extension of 2 previous studies on smaller samples and investigated associations of age at attainment of 32 developmental milestones attained between 0 and 3 years of age with adult intelligence and explored whether the effects of early infant milestones are mediated throug…

  • Occupational Social Class and Personality Traits in Relation to Leisure-Time Physical Activity Level

Open Access•Gitte Petersen, Gitte L Petersen et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Aging and Health•2017•Citada por: 1•Referencias: 5

Higher occupational social class was associated with lower leisure-time physical activity duration, but higher intensity. Extraversion was positively associated with duration and intensity. Conscientiousness, openness, and neuroticism were positively associated with intensity. Overall, interactions were not consistent

  • An association of adult personality with prenatal and early postnatal growth

    Open Access•Trine Flensborg-Madsen, Trine Flensborg‐Madsen et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Psychology•2014

The findings replicate and extend findings from previous studies suggesting that size at birth and during the first three years of life is significantly associated with social acquiescence in adult men. They highlight the potential influence of prenatal and early postnatal development on personality growth and development

  • The Relationship Between Cognitive Ability and Demographic Factors in Late Midlife

Open Access•Erik Lykke Mortensen, Trine Flensborg-Madsen et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Aging and Health•2014•Citada por: 1•Referencias: 4

Late-midlife cognitive ability is associated with a number of demographic factors, and demographic differences may contribute to individual differences in health and early aging. In analyses of cognitive ability, the three CAMB cohorts can be combined provided the relevant demographic variables are included as covariates

  • Personality in Late Midlife

Open Access•Erik Lykke Mortensen, Trine Flensborg-Madsen et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Aging and Health•2014•Citada por: 1•Referencias: 5

Robust sex, educational, and social class differences in personality may contribute to late midlife social gradients in health and early aging. Demographic factors did not fully explain correlations between personality and cognitive ability or cohort differences in personality
