Exploratory and integrative study of Māori kurī (Canis familiaris) at the NRD archaeological site in Aotearoa New Zealand
This multidisciplinary study analyzes kurī skeletal remains from the Northern Runway Development (NRD) archaeological site (AD 1400-1800) to develop an “osteo-history” and help us better understand 1) human-dog interactions; 2) the role kurī played in early Māori societies; and 3) to potentially use kurī as a proxy for human behavior at the site. An Assessment of the Relative Importance of Real Interest Rates, Inflation, and Term Premiums in Determining the Prices of Real and Nominal U.K. Bonds
We use a vector autoregression (VAR) to decompose unanticipated bond returns into news about fundamentals (expected real interest and inflation rates) and expected risk premiums. This decomposition is applied to U.K. short- and long-maturity nominal bonds, and to U.K. index-linked bonds. We also examine the sources of relative conventional and real bond returns. The results suggest that for both bond types, real-rate news plays an insignificant r…
A Data Based Simulation Model of the Financial Asset Decisions of Uk, ‘Other’ Financial Intermediaries
A data-based simulation model of the financial asset decisions of U.K. "other" financial intermediaries is constructed. The preferred equations have coefficients that are satisfactory on a priori grounds and exhibit temporal stability. The data-based model is simulated to assess the plausibility of short-run and long-run effects and the dynamic path to equilibrium. Copyright 1992 by Scottish Economic Society
