Protective effects of Puerariae radix extract and its single compounds on methylglyoxal-induced apoptosis in human retinal pigment epithelial cells
Induction of intercellular adhesion molecule-1 by water-soluble components of Hericium erinaceum in human monocytes
Integrating cultural competency in South Korean social work education
Multiculturalism in South Korea in recent years necessitates inclusion of cultural competency in South Korean social work education and practice. We examine the demographics of South Korea’s ‘diverse’ population, followed by a theoretical framework of cultural competency and whether and to what degree cultural competency training can be effectively incorporated in South Korean social work education. Educational implications are also discussed
Kiom-79 prevents xylose-induced lens opacity and inhibits TGF-beta2 in human lens epithelial cells cultured under high glucose
Anti-obesity effect of Morus bombycis root extract: Anti-lipase activity and lipolytic effect
Induction of Icam-1 by Armillariella mellea is mediated through generation of reactive oxygen species and JNK activation
Kiom-79 prevents apoptotic cell death and AGEs accumulation in retinas of diabetic db/db mice
Kiom-79 prevents S100b-induced TGF-β1 and fibronectin expression in mouse mesangial cells
Kiom-79 inhibits high glucose or AGEs-induced Vegf expression in human retinal pigment epithelial cells
Effects of Kiom-79 on hyperglycemia and diabetic nephropathy in type 2 diabetic Goto-Kakizaki rats
