General Aptitude Test Battery Factor Structures for Saudi Arabian and American Samples
The General Aptitude Test Battery (GATB) has been used in America for over 45 years and administered abroad in 13 languages in 35 countries, including an Arabic version. Correlation matrices for the 12 GATB tests for samples of 4,000 Americans and 749 Saudi Arabians were analysed by factor and cluster analysis. The Vocational Preference Inventory (Holland, 1978) was translated into Arabic and administered in Arabic to a group of Saudi male employees in a technical training program sponsored by a large oil company in Saudi Arabia. Planned and Post Hoc Comparisons for Tests of Homogeneity where the Dependent Variable is Categorical and Ordered
Researchers in the social sciences tend to analyze two dimensional frequency tables by means of Karl Pearson's Chi-square test of homogeneity. This can be improved upon if the dependent variable represents an ordered qualitative characteristic. In particular, one can substitute the Kruskal-Wallis analysis of variance on ranks for the more familiar Karl Pearson test. An example is provided of this modification for a planned and post hoc analysis
Personality Correlates of Barksdale Self-Esteem Index Scores among Nursing Students
Barksdale Self-esteem Index scores were correlated with scales of the Omnibus Personality Inventory and Seeman's Powerlessness scale for 188 graduating nursing students.
