The Sino-Indian War of 1962 in Anglo-American Relations
China's attack on India in 1962 came at a time of high tension in the Cold War, and its objective was not immediately clear. The crisis provided an opportunity for Britain and the US to support India against China and possibly to woo that country towards the western powers.
