  • Constitutional Contract and Discourse Ethics

    Open Access•Kenneth L Avio•ARTICLE•Journal of Theoretical Politics•1997•References: 8

In the first volume of this Journal, Vanberg and Buchanan attempted to integrate contractarian and discourse models of agreement. Their interpretation of discourse ethics is inconsistent with the theory as presented by Jürgen Habermas. Kenneth L Avio•ARTICLE•Canadian Journal of Economics/Revue…•1996

A series of recent papers explore aboriginal rights from constitutional contractarian and discourse-theoretic perspectives (Avio 1994a, 1994b, 1995b). Inalienability is examined in the context of an aboriginal right to fish. The public-good nature of cultural identity and the corresponding free-rider problem are seen to rationalise the proscription of a comme…

  • Property Crime in Canada

Kenneth L Avio, C Scott Clark et al.•BOOK•Property Crime in Canada•1976
