  • Interactions Between Modality of Working Memory Load and Perceptual Load in Distractor Processing

Hideya Koshino, Pilar Olid•ARTICLE•The Journal of General Psychology•2015•References: 1

The present study investigated interactions between working memory load and perceptual load. The load theory (Lavie, Hirst, de Fockert, & Viding, 2004 ) claims that perceptual load decreases distractor interference, whereas working memory load increases interference. However, recent studies showed that effects of working memory might depend on the relationship between modalities of working memory and task stimuli. Here, we examined whether the re…

  • The framing effect and risky decisions

Open Access•Cleotilde González, Jason Dana et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Economic Psychology•2005•Cited by: 5•References: 27

  • The Relationship Between Cognitive Ability and Positive and Negative Priming in Identity and Spatial Priming Tasks

Hideya Koshino, Glenna A Boese et al.•ARTICLE•The Journal of General Psychology•2000•References: 1

The authors examined whether stimulus activation and inhibition in the identity priming task are related to the temporal lobe, and whether these processes in the spatial priming task are related to the parietal lobe. Forty participants performed spatial and identity positive and negative priming tasks, the Vandenberg Mental Rotation task, and the Digit Span task. Both men and women showed significant positive and negative priming in the identity …

  • Evidence of Reliability and Validity for Wise's Attitude toward Statistics Scale

    Open Access•Kenneth S Shultz, Hideya Koshino•ARTICLE•Psychological Reports•1998

Reliability and validity evidence as well as normative data are provided for Wise's 1985 Attitudes Toward Statistics scale for 36 undergraduate and 38 graduate psychology students. In general, the two subscales of Field and Course appear to be reliable and valid measures of these students' attitudes toward statistics. In addition, normative data suggest different norms should be used for graduate and undergraduate students. Replication is needed
