  • From null pronouns to full NPs: Exploring accessibility markers in Korean

Open Access•Nayoung Kwon, So Young Lee et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Linguistics•2026•References: 6

This study investigates the interpretation of referring expressions in Korean – a discourse-oriented language in which referential resolution relies primarily on discourse context rather than morphosyntactic cues. Across three experiments, we manipulated the accessibility of potential antecedents by varying their grammatical roles and examined the effects on referential interpretation using naturalness ratings and antecedent choice tasks. • Depictions of Native Homelands: Genre, Miscegenation, and Women’s Roles in Therese Broderick’s "The Brand" and Mourning Dove’s "Cogewea"

    Open Access•S S Lee•ARTICLE•Amerikastudien/American Studies•2023

While much has been made of Lucullus Virgil McWhorter’s influence on Mourning Dove’s novel "Cogewea", very little mention has been made by scholars about the connections between "Cogewea" and Therese Broderick’s "The Brand". Scholars like Arnold Krupat and Victoria Lamont, for example, mention the scene in "Cogewea" in which the protagonist becomes disgusted enough with "The Brand" to toss it into the fireplace, but an actual side-by-side compari…

    Susanna Lee, S S Lee•ARTICLE•Journal of the History of…•2014

In recent years, publications on the collecting and display of Asian art have been on the rise. Ting Chang’s Travel, Collecting, and Museums of Asian Art in Nineteenth-Century Paris is the latest addition to this encouraging trend. The book examines three major French collections of Asian art formed in the nineteenth century by Henri Cernuschi (1821–1896), Emile Guimet (1836–1918), and Edmond de Goncourt (1822–1896) respectively. Chang situates h…

    K Lee, Kyeong-Koog Lee et al.•ARTICLE•AIDS Care•2005

The universal HIV antibody testing programme was implemented in Hong Kong in September 2001. S S Lee, K H Wong et al.•ARTICLE•AIDS Care•1996

This is a retrospective study of the problems faced and support received by HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) infected haemophilia patients in Hong Kong.
