Extremal Properties of Graphs and Eigencentrality in Trees with a Given Degree Sequence
In this article, we investigate several issues related to the use of the index , known as the Zagreb index (see Gutman and Das, 2004 Gutman , I. & Das , K. C. ( 2004 ). The first Zagreb index 30 years after . MATCH Communications in Mathematical and in Computer Chemistry , 583 – 592 . [Google Scholar]) or “S-metric” (Alderson and Li, 2007 Alderson , D. L. & Li , L. ( 2007 ). Diversity of graphs with highly variable connectivity . Physical Review …
Some New Results on the Eigenvector Centrality
In this article we establish new results on the components of the principal eigenvector in an undirected graph. Those results are particularly significant in relation to the concept of centrality in social networks. In particular degree centrality and eigenvector centrality are compared. We find further conditions, based on the spectral radius, on which nodes with highest degree centrality are also the most eigencentral
On the Depletion of Exhaustible Resources in the Presence of Revised Estimates
The aim of this paper is to describe intertemporal optimal policies for a (competitive and monopolist) producer of an exhaustible resource. An important source of uncertainty is considered-that which relates to the actual size of the in-ground resource, because of revisions in estimates. Market uncertainty is also taken into account. Conditions for the expected evolution of the royalty price are given, generalizing results in the literature. Clos…
Aggregation in Decisionmaking
The aim of this paper is to describe a new approach in decisionmaking under uncertainty related to discrete choice models (DCM) and stochastic dominance (SD). A common basic structure is recognized for DCM and SD and both are embedded in the new approach
