  • Incidence and Correlates of Posttraumatic Stress Disorder in Battered Women: Shelter and Community Samples

Open Access•Anita Kemp, Bonnie L Green et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Interpersonal Violence•1995

Battered women have been identified as being at risk for posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). This study further articulated the nature of the relationship between the trauma of battery and PTSD. One hundred seventy-nine battered women and 48 nonbattered but verbally abused women were recruited from several sources (shelters, support groups, therapist referrals, community). Battered women with and without PTSD were compared with the finding that…

  • Image of the Peace Field: An International Survey

    Open Access•Anita Kemp•ARTICLE•Journal of Peace Research•1985•Cited by: 1•References: 2

An international survey of individuals in the peace field was undertaken to determine whether there is similarity in the images belonging to the field. When examining peace concepts, significant contributors, mentors, optimism for peace and research areas, groups based on field identification, region, age and sex were compared. The 133 responses to the survey undertaken in 1982-83 indicate that none of the groups is isolated from the others. Ther…

  • A Paradigm for Peace Studies Programs

    Open Access•Anita Kemp•ARTICLE•Peace & Change•1983

  • A path analytic model of international violence

    Anita Kemp•ARTICLE•International Interactions•1978•Cited by: 1•References: 11

Hypotheses regarding international violence are plentiful. However, quantitative study of these relationships lags far behind what is necessary for proper examination. This study takes several important variables (territorial disputes, colonies, multinationals, intergovernmental organizations, nongovernmental organizations, trade, military alliances, arms expenditures and political similarity) and quantitatively examines their relations to intern…

  • A computer model of international violence

    Anita Kemp•ARTICLE•International Interactions•1977•References: 7

This paper undertakes an analysis of various propositions (prevalent in the literature) concerning international violence. A computer model is developed as the framework for the testing of hypotheses on agitators of conflict (status inconsistency, internal war, relative increase in opponent's power, lost territory, economic dominance, systemic opponents, military alliances) inhibitors of conflict (trade, tourists, emigrants, turmoil, intergovernm…
