Creating the Canon of Wind Band Literature: A History of the National Contest Literature Lists, 1924–1943
Band repertoire lists evolved from a desire to make the school band experience “more educational” when school bands themselves were relatively new. The Influence of Tonal and Atonal Contexts on Error Detection Accuracy
Music education students ( N = 21) at a university in the southeastern United States took an error detection test that had been designed for this study to determine the effects of tonal contexts versus atonal contexts on the ability to detect performance errors.
