The purpose of the current content analysis was to describe the publication characteristics found in the International Journal of Community Music from the first print issue in 2008 through 2018. The following article addresses the partners in the lifelong music cycle (school music, collegiate music and community music) and how these partners might approach music education for the benefit of music participants. A content analysis of choral students' participation perceptions
The purpose of this study was to describe students' perceptions of their high school choral experience. The participants in the study were 57 choral musicians attending a north Texas high school. Each participant was asked to complete a broad writing task: to write a letter to the incoming varsity choir members in order to help the musicians to transition to the new choral environment. The primary purpose of this study was to determine the relative difficulty of playing selected types of melodic patterns by ear. Ancillary purposes were to study the effects of performance experience and instrument family on the ability to play by ear, and to investigate the relationship between tonal aptitude and ability to play by ear. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of movement instruction on beginning instrumentalists' steady beat perception, synchronization, and performance.
