Visualizing the social in aquaculture
Until very recently, governments of many countries, as well as their supporting organizations, have primarily addressed the biological, technical and economic aspects of aquaculture. In contrast, social and cultural aspects of aquaculture production have taken a backseat. UK and international stroke clinical guidelines recommend long-term exercise participation for stroke survivors. However, there has been no previous research into what services are available to support this. In 2009, we conducted the first European survey of community Exercise after…
Jesus' Death and the Gathering of True Israel
Taking seriously the Gospel as a unified narrative and the Gospel's late first-century Jewish setting, John Dennis investigates the Fourth Gospel's appropriation of Jewish restoration theology. Employing John 11.47-52 as the starting point, the author argues that one of the primary functions of restoration theology in John is to interpret Jesus' death in the light of Jewish restoration expectations. A new angle on Jesus' death in the Fourth Gospe…
Restoration in John 11,47-52
Scholarly interest in Jn 11,47-52 has been focused primarily on the following areas: (1) the meaning of hyper in vv. 50-52; (2) Jewish parallels to Caiaphas’ speech in v. 50; (3) the tradition-historical background to the designation “gathering of the dispersed” in v. 52b; and (4) the identity of the “children of God” in v. 52b. What has not been fully appreciated is the combined affect of the motifs of this pericope. This article attempts to arg…
