  • Spatial Analysis of Residential Land Prices in Belgium

    Florence Goffette-Nagot, Florence Goffette‐Nagot et al.•ARTICLE•Regional Studies•2010•Cited by: 5•References: 2

Spatial analysis of residential land prices in Belgium: accessibility, linguistic border, and environmental amenities, Regional Studies. This paper explores the spatial variation of land prices in Belgium. The originality of the methodology is threefold: to work at the spatial extent of an entire country; to compute accessibility measures to all jobs and several representations of the environmental amenities; and, more importantly, to test the hy…

  • Does public housing occupancy increase unemployment

    Florence Goffette-Nagot, Florence Goffette‐Nagot•ARTICLE•Revue économique•2009•Cited by: 2

  • Urban Environmental Quality in Two Belgian Cities, Evaluated on the Basis of Residential Choices and GIS Data

    Open Access•Isabelle Reginster, Florence Goffette-Nagot et al.•ARTICLE•Environment and Planning A…•2005•Cited by: 1•References: 41

Our objective in this paper is to analyse empirically the effects of environmental quality on residential location choices in two Belgian cities, using a detailed description of the urban environment derived from remotely sensed data and using GIS tools. According to urban models which include amenities, environmental quality may influence land rents and location by income in the city. In order to test these relations, average land rents and mean…

  • Agglomeration Economies and Spatial Configurations in Rural Areas

    Open Access•F Goffette-Nagot, Florence Goffette‐Nagot et al.•ARTICLE•Environment and Planning A…•1999•Cited by: 6•References: 30

The question to be addressed in this paper is that of the agglomeration and dispersion forces that are likely to account for the location of people and jobs in rural areas and the way these forces explain spatial patterns in rural areas depending on urban influence. Economic geography models may provide suitable tools with which to investigate the organization of rural areas. We first review these models, focusing on dispersion forces, which rest…

  • Change in the French countryside

Jean Cavailhès, CÉCILE DESSENDRE et al.•ARTICLE•European Review of Agricultural…•1994

An economic analysis of the French ‘rural renaissance’ is proposed, illustrated by some INRA (Dijon) ongoing research. Agriculture is being cut back while rural industry remains stable. Demand for rural residential, recreational and environmental goods is growing. The analysis is conducted by developing the comparative advantage concept (local resources, transport costs, spatialised production and consumption functions). Residential and occupatio…
