Tiina Kähkönen, Mika Vanhala et al.•ARTICLE•Defence Studies•2025•References: 7

In this paper, we developed a valid measurement scale to assess implications related to remote work. The initial scale was completed by 214 employees of the administrative units of the Finnish Army and the Finnish Navy and validated by 148 employees of the administrative unit of the Finnish Air Force. The 11-item five-factor scale was found to be reliable, valid and stable. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first study in an organizationa…

  • Adolescents and the dark side of social media—Law enforcement perspectives

Open Access•Juho Äijälä, Reetta Riikonen et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Communication•2023

Open Access•Tuomas Kuronen, Aki-Mauri Huhtinen et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Management Inquiry•2017

In this essay, we study the emergence of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) from the theoretical perspective of the “rhizome” coined by Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari. We understand organizing in general and conflict emergence in particular through the becoming of the rhizomatic ontology of organizing. In our view, the emergence of organizing is a manifestation of a rhizomatic basis of things, seen in nomadic strategies of pursuin…

    Open Access•Tuomas Kuronen, Aki-Mauri Huhtinen et al.•ARTICLE•Semiotica•2016•References: 19

In this essay, we study the emergence and institutionalization of political leadership. Our empirical case is the presidential leadership of the former Cold War era President of Finland, Urho Kekkonen. Towards the end of his tenure as the president, which lasted for 25 years, his leadership became a “zero-institution,” in the same sense as articulated by Claude Lévi-Strauss. Kekkonen became an iconic figure in the society, whose status as the lea…
