Harnessing lived experience to strengthen place-based partnerships locally and demonstrate impact regionally
Building the Community-Pharmacy Partnership (BCPP) is delivered by the Community Development and Health Network (CDHN) in partnership with the Department of Health (DoH). Over the last 22 years of the programme, £7 million of funding has been invested to over 1050 partnerships. 90% of the 526 pharmacies in Northern Ireland have participated in the programme. The BCPP Programme brings communities and Community Pharmacy together to co-design and de…
Circumpolar status of Arctic ptarmigan
Rock ptarmigan (Lagopus muta) and willow ptarmigan (L. lagopus) are Arctic birds with a circumpolar distribution but there is limited knowledge about their status and trends across their circumpolar distribution. Here, we compiled information from 90 ptarmigan study sites from 7 Arctic countries, where almost half of the sites are still monitored. Rock ptarmigan showed an overall negative trend on Iceland and Greenland, while Svalbard and Newfoun…

Trophic Dynamics of the Boreal Forests of the Kluane Region
The trophic dynamics of the Yukon boreal forest have been under investigation at the Kluane Lake Research Station since 1973. We monitored and conducted experiments on the major species in this ecosystem, except the large mammals (for logistic reasons). The central problem has been to determine the causes of the 9 – 10 year cycle of snowshoe hares, and to achieve this we carried out several large-scale experiments manipulating food supplies, pred…
Systematic Reserve Selection for Conservation in Whistler, Canada
Mountain resort communities in North America depend on tourism and recreation for their economic viability. Heavy recreation and other anthropogenic activities such as land conversion for development directly threaten mountain ecosystems. To maintain beneficial ecosystem services and preserve the characteristics that draw people to the area, there is much interest in setting aside conservation reserves. Historically, reserve networks have been se…
