Open Access•Julie Allan, Anette Bagger et al.•ARTICLE•Research Papers in Education•2026•References: 51

This article explores the tensions within inclusive education and emphasizes the research community’s responsibility to enhance the understanding and practical application of inclusive practices. It highlights the challenges the researchers face when navigating diverse scientific disciplines, often leading to entrenched policies that overlook varied epistemologies. We aim to display and open for scrutiny current and ongoing social epistemologies …

  • Does fishery activity affect local tourism? Evidence from Denmark

Open Access•Max Nielsen, Anna Andersson et al.•ARTICLE•Marine Policy•2024

  • Interactions between Fisheries and Tourism in the Nordic Countries

Open Access•Staffan Waldo, Margrethe Aanesen et al.•BOOK•Interactions between Fisheries…•2023

The Nordic countries all have large nature areas and clean waters attracting tourists from all over the world. Many visitors are attracted by fishing related activities, e.g. recreational fishing opportunities or coastal villages with a genuine fishing atmosphere provided by commercial fisheries. The role of fisheries for tourism is analysed in a study financed by the Nordic Council of Ministers. The study highlights that different tourists value…

  • Sensing Scale in Experimental Gardens

Open Access•Aubrey Streit Krug, Ellie Irons et al.•ARTICLE•Ecozon European Journal of…•2023

Gardening experiments are timely in the context of what many now call the Anthropocene, an era that highlights questions of how humans collectively relate to the larger Earth systems in which we are embedded. In Ecocriticism on the Edge: The Anthropocene as a Threshold Concept, Timothy Clark reflects on the “unreadability” of the Anthropocene. He invites ecocritics to address this challenge by practicing “scale framing,” reading texts in variable…

  • The Helsinki Convention’s agricultural nutrient governance

Open Access•Mikael Skou Andersen, Anna Andersson et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Baltic Studies•2023•Cited by: 1•References: 46

National policy styles and path-dependencies are affecting the abilities of Baltic Sea countries to deliver on their commitments under the Helsinki Convention. This article synthesizes evidence and insights from studies relating to the provisions on agricultural nutrient management, a main source of marine pollution. We contend that governments that are strongly concentrated vertically, while fragmented horizontally, lack capacity including with …

  • The effect of eco-certification on demand

    Open Access•Anna Andersson, Cecilia Hammarlund•ARTICLE•Ecological Economics•2022•References: 5

We investigate if Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) certified Norway lobster fishing vessels in Sweden got higher prices and sold larger quantities after certification was introduced in 2015. Using detailed daily panel data and exploiting the fact that the same fishing water contains both certified and non-certified vessels, we use a difference-in-difference model for analysing demand effects of MSC-certification. We find a price premium the first…

  • How unnecessarily high abatement costs and unresolved distributional issues undermine nutrient reductions to the Baltic Sea

Open Access•Anna Andersson, Mark Brady et al.•ARTICLE•AMBIO•2022•Cited by: 4•References: 42

This paper systematically reviews the literature on how to reduce nutrient emissions to the Baltic Sea cost-effectively and considerations for allocating these costs fairly among countries. The literature shows conclusively that the reduction targets of the Baltic Sea Action Plan (BSAP) could be achieved at considerably lower cost, if countries would cooperate to implement the least costly abatement plan. Focusing on phosphorus abatement could be…

  • Strengthening the policy framework to resolve lax implementation of the Baltic Sea Action Plan for agriculture

Open Access•Mark Brady, Mikael Skou Andersen et al.•ARTICLE•AMBIO•2022•Cited by: 4•References: 40

In this perspective article, we provide recommendations for strengthening the policy framework for protecting the Baltic Sea from agricultural nutrient pollution. The most striking weakness is the lax implementation of prescribed abatement measures, particularly concerning manure management, in most countries. Institutions of the EU should also be leveraged for achieving Baltic Sea Action Plan (BSAP) goals. In contrast to the Helsinki Convention,…

  • What’s in it for Africa? European Union fishing access agreements and fishery exports from developing countries

  • Theoretical Boundaries of Armed Conflict and Human Rights

Anna Andersson•ARTICLE•Nordic Journal of Human Rights•2017

  • Evaluation of results and adaptation of EU Rural Development Programmes

  • To build a bridge between two worlds

Stina Thorstensson, Anna Andersson et al.•ARTICLE•Health Care For Women International•2015

We studied the experience of professional support among first-time mothers in relation to a scale measuring professional support in maternity care. We used a qualitative study with both an inductive and deductive approach and interviewed nine mothers. Our findings, both inductive and deductive, suggest that first-time mothers expect professional support in their transition into motherhood, building a bridge between two worlds. The first meeting, …
