Primary Versus Secondary Callous-Unemotional Traits
Callous-Unemotional (CU) traits are key predictors of conduct problems. Although primary and secondary CU variants have been identified, longitudinal evidence and the role of gender remain limited. This study examined CU subtypes, predictors, and outcomes using data from the ELISA Project ( n = 2,163; 49.4% girls; M age T1 = 4.26; M age T6 = 10.92). Children were classified as Low CU/Low Anx (77.9%), Primary CU (11%), Anxiety (8.9%), or Secondary…

Leveraging Random Forests explainability for predictive modeling of children's conduct problems
Conduct problems are among the most complex, impairing, and prevalent challenges affecting the mental health of children and adolescents. Due to their multifaceted nature, it is important to develop predictive models that capture the intricate interactions among contributing factors. This longitudinal study aims to: (1) evaluate the utility and effectiveness of Random Forest models for classifying children with varying levels of conduct problems,…
So far but yet so near
The main objective of this study was to examine the moderating or buffering effect of social support (SS) perceived by university students on the psychological impact of lockdown on mental health. Specifically, a total of 826 participants (622 women) completed an online survey that included standardized measures of anxiety (Generalised Anxiety Disorder‐7), depression (Patient Health Questionnaire‐9), and irritability (Brief Irritability Test), as…
Testing the predictive and incremental validity of callous-unemotional traits versus the multidimensional psychopathy construct in preschool children
Developmental Trajectories of Youth Conduct Problems
Conduct Problems in Childhood and Adolescence
Disentangling the Role of Psychopathic Traits and Externalizing Behaviour in Predicting Conduct Problems from Childhood to Adolescence
Riesgo y protección de desviación social en adolescentes inmigrantes
This study analyzes levels of antisocial behavior in Latino immigrant adolescents who are living in Spain. The results are integrated within a wide explanatory framework, defined by the relationships between acculturation strategies and personality variables and family functioning. The results allow us to underline configurations of high risk (and, alternatively, strongly protective) in terms of social deviation: particularly, a separation style …
