  • Adolescent Men's Pregnancy Resolution Choices in Relation to an Unintended Pregnancy

Open Access•Maria Lohan, Maria Giulia Olivari et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Family Issues•2013•Cited by: 1•References: 46

This article investigates adolescent men's pregnancy resolution choices in Australia, Ireland, and Italy. It addresses two main gaps in the literature: the lack of research on (adolescent) men's views on unintended pregnancy and pregnancy resolution and the lack of international comparative case studies on men and reproductive choices. Consistent with theories of the transformation of intimacies in society and the growth of individualization, the…

  • The Reality of Religious Labels

Riaz Hassan, Carolyn Corkindale et al.•ARTICLE•Journal for the Academic Study of…•2009

The meaning of the religious labels used by people to describe themselves and others is often problematic. Religiosity, religious behavior and experience vary in the way they are reported and understood. This study presents a methodological approach to investigating the relationship between self-reported religiosity and an objectively constructed index of religious intensity. The data were obtained from a multi-country study of Muslim religiosity…

A control group was assessed on 2 occasions 4 weeks apart. Both the …

  • The assessment of parent-to-infant attachment

    John T Condon, Carolyn J Corkindale•ARTICLE•Journal of Reproductive and…•1998

In most research involving maternal infant attachment, the attachment construct has been assessed by behavioural observation. The problems inherent in this approach, including its high cost and labour-intensive nature, are briefly reviewed. It is suggested that the behavioural approach could be usefully complemented by enquiry into the mother's subjective experiences towards her infant. The development of a 19 item self-report questionnaire to as…

  • The correlates of antenatal attachment in pregnant women

Open Access•John T Condon, Carolyn Corkindale et al.•ARTICLE•British Journal of Medical…•1997•Cited by: 19

Maternal‐foetal attachment represents the earliest and most basic form of human intimacy, and has both theoretical and clinical significance. Utilizing a previously published self‐report questionnaire to assess antenatal attachment, the present paper explores its correlates using 238 women in the third trimester of pregnancy. Extrapolating from studies of maternal‐infant attachment, it was hypothesized that depression and a lack of social support…
