  • Crisis, adaptation and recovery

    Open Access•Birgit Grüb, Birgit Grüb‐Martin et al.•ARTICLE•Annals of Public and Cooperative…•2026•References: 2

The COVID‐19 pandemic has severely impacted the external environment of social service non‐profit organizations (NPOs), resulting in diverse management challenges. Our study investigates how social service NPOs in Austria experienced these challenges and how they developed internal coping mechanisms. We distinguished four phases of the pandemic (March 2020 to February 2021) and conducted interviews with 33 managers of 14 NPOs. Thus, our research …

  • El derecho en los tiempos del totalitarismo

    Open Access•Sarah M Martins, Sebastián Martín•ARTICLE•História do Direito•2021

  • Public value of cultural heritages – towards a better understanding of citizen’s valuation of Austrian museums

    Open Access•Birgit Grüb, Sebastián Martín•ARTICLE•Cultural Trends•2020•Cited by: 4•References: 13

In times of scarce public funding, organisations that receive public funds face increasing pressure to legitimise themselves. Thus, museums must also legitimise themselves to receive public funds. They have to demonstrate that they provide a valuable contribution to society. Is the preservation of cultural goods a sufficient benefit for society or are museums valuable to citizens in any other way? To evaluate whether citizens see a benefit in mus…

  • Effects of word-of-mouth on the behavior of Austrian blood donors

Open Access•Sebastián Martín, Dorothea Greiling et al.•ARTICLE•Health Promotion International•2019

The procurement of blood is an essential challenge of today’s health care. Current studies emphasize the influence of word-of-mouth (WOM) on health care behavior, including blood donation. Still, there exists no study which systematically investigates how WOM affects the behavior of blood donors. Therefore, this paper aims to contribute to this lack of research by focusing on Austrian blood donors as possible receivers and senders of WOM. A surve…

This text tackles two issues: the political content of the Rudolf Smend’s Integrationslehre and its critical interpretation by 1930s Spanish Public Law, mainly by Eduardo L. Llorens, a Constitutional Law Scholar who developed a State theory based also on the idea of integration. A basic aspect of the research is the comparison between these doctrines about integration and the attempt to find the political principle of each other. With this purpos…

  • Patient recovery from type A botulism

    J Mann, J M Mann et al.•ARTICLE•American Journal of Public Health•1981•References: 4

A large outbreak of foodborne botulism provided an opportunity to study the recovery from type A botulism in a group of 27 patients. Patients were interviewed either nine or 13 months after the outbreak, and a written questionnaire was mailed at 24 months, to obtain information on each patient's symptom complex and on subsequent symptom resolution. Recovery from symptoms of botulism was slow. Patients reported that resolution of 50 per cent of th…
