    The southeastern part of Transylvania has a specific location in the Carpathian Basin. Being situated on the western fringe of the Eastern Carpathians, influences from west (inner Transylvania and the Great Hungarian Plain) and east (Moldavia and the northern Pontic area) can be traced through human history.     In Transylvania, settlements of the Transdanubian Linienbandkeramik (LBK) are predominantly found in the Braşov Depression. Excavations at the LBK settlement of Olteni, located on the right bank of the Olt River, brought to light the fragmented remains of at least two ground plans of Early Neolithic longhouses.     The aim of this paper is to present the pottery from Alba Iulia-Lumea Nouă (Pl. I-III, IV/2, V/8, VIII, IX/1, 3, X/1-2) and Petreşti-Groapa Galbenă (Pl. IV/1, 3-11, V/1-7, 9, VI-VII, IX/2, 4). The decoration is executed inside the incised parallel lines using the excision technique and consists in the ‘wolf ’s teeth’ and ‘chessboard’. The excised ‘wolf ’s teeth’ and chessboard’ motifs are typical especially for phase I of Precucuteni culture. In …
