  • Multilevel Predictors of Inconsistent Condom Use Among Adolescent Mothers

Bethanie S Van Horne, Constance M Wiemann et al.•ARTICLE•American Journal of Public Health•2009•Cited by: 3•References: 53

Objectives. We used Bronfenbrenner's ecological systems theory to identify factors that predicted never or sometimes using condoms in a multiethnic cohort of adolescent mothers. Methods. We interviewed adolescent mothers within 48 hours of delivery and surveyed them 6 and 12 months after delivery (n = 636). We used multinomial logistic regression to identify individual-, dyad-, family-, and peer and community-level factors associated with never o…

  • The Effects of Team Diversity on Team Outcomes

    Open Access•Sujin K Horwitz, Irwin B Horwitz•ARTICLE•Journal of Management•2007

Over the past few decades, a great deal of research has been conducted to examine the complex relationship between team diversity and team outcomes. However, the impact of team diversity on team outcomes and moderating variables potentially affecting this relationship are still not fully answered with mixed findings in the literature. These research issues were, therefore, addressed by quantitatively reviewing extant work and provided estimates o…

  • Have Health Conditions Associated With Latex Increased Since the Issuance of Universal Precautions

Brian P Mccall, Irwin B Horwitz et al.•ARTICLE•American Journal of Public Health•2003•References: 30

Objectives. This study explored whether the prevalence of latex-related health conditions has increased among individuals employed in medical occupations relative to those employed in nonmedical occupations since the issuance of universal precautions in 1987. Methods. Data derived from the 1983 to 1994 versions of the National Health Interview Survey were used to obtain odds ratios comparing prevalence rates of latex-related symptoms over time. R…

  • Workers' compensation claims related to natural rubber latex gloves among Oregon healthcare employees from 1987–1998

    Open Access•Irwin B Horwitz, John D Kammeyer‐Mueller et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2002

In comparison with other workers' compensation claims filed by healthcare workers during this period, 0.25% of the total was potentially related to NRL gloves. The rare incidence of respiratory and ocular claims is inconsistent with the hypothesis that asthmatic or conjunctival reactions to NRL gloves are common
