  • A Novel Method for Evaluating and Comparing Community Health Reports

Cynthia J Hines, Mieka Smart et al.•ARTICLE•Progress in community health…•2020

This research identified key health metrics not captured by current locally generated Flint public health reports. The 23.8% gap indicates an opportunity to improve local public health data report comprehensiveness. The 70% overlap across the two local reports with greatest match-to-standard scores generated locally, indicates potential duplication and an opportunity to improve efficiency

  • An Updated Algorithm for Estimation of Pesticide Exposure Intensity in the Agricultural Health Study

Open Access•Joseph Coble, Kent Thomas et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2011

An algorithm developed to estimate pesticide exposure intensity for use in epidemiologic analyses was revised based on data from two exposure monitoring studies. In the first study, we estimated relative exposure intensity based on the results of measurements taken during the application of the herbicide 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D) (n = 88) and the insecticide chlorpyrifos (n = 17). Modifications to the algorithm weighting factors were…

  • Improving the Health of Workers in Indoor Environments: Priority Research Needs for a National Occupational Research Agenda

Mark J Mendell, William J Fisk et al.•ARTICLE•American Journal of Public Health•2002•Cited by: 1•References: 56

Indoor nonindustrial work environments were designated a priority research area through the nationwide stakeholder process that created the National Occupational Research Agenda. A multidisciplinary research team used member consensus and quantitative estimates, with extensive external review, to develop a specific research agenda. The team outlined the following priority research topics: building-influenced communicable respiratory infections, b…
