Fetal health state detection method based on parameters efficient ensembling of deep learning
Background: The classification of cardiotocography (CTG) can assist obstetricians in assessing the health status of the fetus. However, traditional fetal heart rate monitoring data has the problem of strong subjectivity in manual interpretation, and deep learning models have poor representation ability on tabular data. Methods: This study proposed PLE-TabM, a tabular deep learning model combined piecewise linear encoding (PLE) and efficient weigh…

Revisiting the foreign language effect on moral decision-making: A closer look at the role of perverse responses
The present study examined the potential bias of foreign language effect (FLE) on moral judgment by considering the confounding influence of perverse responses. A perverse response is a reaction that contradicts both norms and consequences, that is, participants choose to take action (or inaction) when both norms and consequences require inaction (or action). We predicted that using a foreign language, compared to a native language, would elicit …

Associations of Death Anxiety, Inclusion of Smartphone in the Self, and Affiliation Motivation with Smartphone use and Addiction: A Multiple Mediation Study
This study is the first to apply terror management theory to understanding smartphone addiction by examining the potential indirect effect of death anxiety on smartphone addiction via inclusion of smartphone in the self (i.e., self-expansion), affiliation motivation (the desire to connect with others) for emotional support, and smartphone use. The sample consisted of 1483 Chinese university students between the ages of 18 and 24 ( M = 19.14, SD =…
