  • Glacial geomorphology of the Gongba Mountain Area, Daocheng, Southeast Tibetan Plateau

    Open Access•Weijia Luo, Emma-Louise Cooper et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Maps•2026

Researching the glacial geomorphology of the Tibetan Plateau is crucial for understanding past climate change, as well as reconstructing the dynamics of palaeoglaciers. In this study, we create a detailed glacial geomorphological map of a formerly glaciated valley at Gongba Mountain (∼28°58'N, 100°23'E), in the Daocheng area of the southeast Tibetan Plateau. We combined Geographic Information Systems (GIS), satellite and Uncrewed Aerial Vehicle (…

  • A machine learning approach to identifying suicide risk among text-based crisis counseling encounters

Open Access•Meghan Broadbent, Mattia Medina Grespan et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Psychiatry•2023

The neural model demonstrated greater sensitivity in the detection of client suicide risk. A manual assessment of errors and model performance reflected these same findings, detecting higher levels of risk in many of the false-positive encounters and lower levels of risk in many of the false negatives. NLP-based models can detect the suicide risk of text-based crisis encounters from the encounter's content

Open Access•Weidan Cao, Qinghua Yang et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2023

The study has made important contributions in that it extends the scholarship on health information behaviors by (a) highlighting that relevant hazard experience in risk information seeking and processing model should be expanded to include indirect experience, and (b) providing the mechanism of subsequent systematic information processing following prior information processing. Our study also provides practical implications on health/risk commun…
