    Open Access•Stefania Tusini•ARTICLE•Quality & Quantity•2022

  • Il concetto di follia come strumento di (ri)definizione dell’aggressore

    Open Access•Stefania Tusini•ARTICLE•Quaderni di Sociologia•2022

In this article it is proposed a study on the use of the concept of madness as a political rather than a medical-diagnostic tool. In particular, the aim is to show how the attribution of elements of madness to the aggressor is a pattern that has been repeated many times with the aim of discrediting the opponent’s political reasons and translating them into pathology. To this end, particular historical cases are examined, such as the Mau Mau revol…

  • Spostare il confine più in là. Autoetnografia come genere scientifico

    Stefania Tusini•ARTICLE•SOCIOLOGIA E RICERCA SOCIALE•2021

  • Migrazione, inclusione, sicurezza

    Open Access•Stefania Tusini•ARTICLE•SocietàMutamentoPolitica•2020

The essay aims to connect issues related to inclusion and security by examining the Italian case in which, in the face of poor inclusion policies, there is the absence of significant terrorist attacks. This peculiarity has raised several questions and will be discussed by looking at various factors that have probably protected the country and by evaluating the persistence of their effectiveness over time. In light of these considerations, the ess…

  • Percorsi di (dis)integrazione

    Stefania Tusini•ARTICLE•SOCIOLOGIA E RICERCA SOCIALE•2016•References: 5

In many European countries migrants are living confined in a temporal bubble that keeps them in the past. The migration policy is also a temporal policy by which some nations exert their coeval hegemony, discriminating all those who are not able to adapt. Consequently, migrants undergo a temporal apartheid and live in an apart social world, with very different life conditions than natives. From the point of view of the social stability, this cont…

  • Simpatrici e allocronici. Una riflessione sul profilo spazio-temporale dei migranti rileggendo il concetto di mondo sociale di Schütz

    Stefania Tusini•ARTICLE•SOCIOLOGIA E RICERCA SOCIALE•2015•Cited by: 1•References: 6

This essay provides a reflection on the space-time profile of migrants in advancedsocieties. Employing the concepts of sympatry, allochronism and socialtime, the conclusion is that migrants and natives are sympatric and allochronicgroups; that is, while they are sharing the same space, they don’t share thesame time. The time lag is theoretically and empirically argued and supportedby statistical data in order to show the migrants’ non-coevalness …

  • The Decrease in Alcohol Consumption in Italy

    Open Access•Stefania Tusini•ARTICLE•Contemporary Drug Problems•2007•Cited by: 3•References: 1

During the years from 1970 on, when the decrease in alcohol consumption occurred, a number of remarkable changes occurred in Italy as to working conditions, family structures and family roles, new lifestyles and consumption patterns. The impact of mass migration, urbanization and social mobility on one hand, and of health awareness and destructuring of meals on the other, offer explanations of the decrease

  • A Demographic Interpretation of the Decrease in Alcohol Consumption in Italy

    Open Access•Francesco Cipriani, Stefania Tusini•ARTICLE•Contemporary Drug Problems•2007

Aging changes in the Italian population were hypothesized as explaining the overall wine consumption decrease in the period 1970–2000. However, examining both the expected and the observed changes of alcohol consumption in the general population, population age group proportion variations between 1969 and 1999 were found to have no major effect in determining the consumption reduction trend
