The Occupation of the Undergraduate Sociology Major

The principal occupations were in public agencies and included social service, teaching, and secretarial-receptionist-clerical positions. Those unemployed were most likely to be married females, the majority of whom had children. The findings suggest the need for review of the educational goals and structure of undergraduate sociology instruction
