Confidence Intervals for Correlation Ratios
It is suggested that for fixed effects experiments, the traditional statistical question is inappropriate. It is suggested that variance ratios—the signal to noise ratio (σ 2 a /σ 2 e ) and the correlation ratio (σ 2 a /σ 2 t )—are more desirable. Criticisms of these values are explored. Finally confidence intervals and percentiles for the random and fixed effects model's signal to noise and correlation ratio are given. The latter being dependent…
A Method for Simulating Non-Normal Distributions
A method of introducing a controlled degree of skew and kurtosis for Monte Carlo studies was derived. The form of such a transformation on normal deviates [ X ~ N (0, 1)] is Y = a + bX + cX 2 + dX 3 . Analytic and empirical validation of the method is demonstrated.
A Program for Calculating the Exact Probability Along with Explorations of M By N Contingency Tables
A program has been developed to test the significance of an m × n table by using an extension of the Fisher exact probability test. Theoretical corrections are made regarding the previous work by Bedeian and Armenakis (1977). Various methods of discovering the source of association at a cellwise level are given
