  • Bullying Victimization and Trauma

Open Access•Thormod Idsøe, Tracy Vaillancourt et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Psychiatry•2021

Bullying victimization and trauma research traditions operate quite separately. Hence, it is unclear from the literature whether bullying victimization should be considered as a form of interpersonal trauma. We review studies that connect bullying victimization with symptoms of PTSD, and in doing so, demonstrate that a conceptual understanding of the consequences of childhood bullying needs to be framed within a developmental perspective. We disc…

  • Direct and indirect pathways from children’s early self-regulation to academic achievement in fifth grade in Norway

    Open Access•Ragnhild Lenes, Megan M Mcclelland et al.•ARTICLE•Early Childhood Research Quarterly•2020•Cited by: 1•References: 18

A large body of research has documented the role of self-regulation in academic skill development for young children. However, few studies have investigated longitudinal and indirect effects from kindergarten through later elementary school. In this longitudinal Norwegian study, we investigated pathways from children’s self-regulation in kindergarten (Mage = 5.8; N = 243, 49% girls), to language and math skills in first grade (N = 240) and readin…
