  • The role of oxytocin receptor gene variants in appetitive aggression

    Open Access•Catherine Lohrentz, Jacqueline S Womersley et al.•ARTICLE•Aggressive Behavior•2024•References: 57

  • Effects of metrical dissonance and expertise on perceived emotion in Schumann’s Carnaval

Open Access•Jessica Sommer, Kimberly Simmons et al.•ARTICLE•Musicae Scientiae•2021

  • Feasibility and effectiveness of narrative exposure therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy in a context of ongoing violence in South Africa

Open Access•Martina Hinsberger, Leon Holtzhausen et al.•ARTICLE•Psychological Trauma Theory…•2016

The study shows that trauma-focused treatment can reduce the psychological symptoms of posttraumatic stress even for individuals living under unsafe conditions in low-income urban communities. However, achieving changes in violent behavior within a context of ongoing violence may require more than the treatment of trauma-related suffering, confrontation with one's offenses, or cognitive-behavioral interventions.
