  • Transmission dynamics and attributable burden of tuberculosis among young and middle-aged adults in urban Shanghai: A genomic epidemiology study

Open Access•Shuang Zhang, Yangyi Zhang et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2026

Background China remains a high tuberculosis (TB) burden country, and large urban centers such as Shanghai continue to face persistent transmission challenges driven by high population mobility. Whole-genome sequencing (WGS) provides high-resolution discrimination between recent transmission and reactivation; however, evidence at the district level remains limited. This study aimed to integrate WGS with epidemiological data to characterize local …

  • Representing and Regulating: How Gay Men Have Been Incorporated Into China’s Evolving HIV/Aids Policies, 1987–2019

    Open Access•Zhipeng Sun, Meixia Yang•ARTICLE•The Journal of Men s Studies•2023•References: 8

This paper examined how gay men were incorporated into China’s HIV/AIDS policies from 1987 to 2019. We also explored how these policies reflect the country’s broader position regarding homosexuality. A textual analysis method was adopted using China’s national-level HIV/AIDS policies, regulations, a nd guidelines (1987–2019, N = 26). Three periods related to the incorporation of gay men into China’s HIV/AIDS policies were identified: 1987–1990, 1…

  • Association of Daily Exposure to Air Pollutants with the Risk of Tuberculosis in Xuhui District of Shanghai, China

Open Access•Ying Xiong, Xiong Ying et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2022

Previous studies have suggested that air pollutant exposure is related to tuberculosis (TB) risk, but results have not been consistent. This study evaluated the relation between daily air pollutant exposure and TB incidence in Shanghai from 2014 to 2019. Overall, there were four pollutants that were positively related to the risk of new TB cases. After a 5 μg/m 3 increase, the maximum lag-specific and cumulative relative risk (RR) of SO 2 were 1.…
